This is the first hike Jen ever did after moving to Portland in 2010, and what made her fall even more in love with her new home state. This easy yet breathtaking 2.4 mile loop hike is so worth experiencing! A NW Forest pass is required (day passes available at trailhead).
A favorite trail of ours, especially to catch either an epic sunrise or sunset, you can see both from the 180 degree view from the top. For the more experienced hikers, this 5 mile, 1,500 ft. elevation gain hike will have you break a sweat but the summit views are absolutely incredible! No fee to park at the trailhead.
Want to see stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge but not into hiking? This is *the* iconic spot to visit! Less than 30 minutes from the wedding venue, this beautiful spot will give you epic gorge views, plus the Vista House is also a museum that is full of information and free to enter. No fee to park, either. A favorite spot of ours to watch the gorge transform during golden hour.
For those wanting to hike in the mountains, this is a Mt. Hood favorite! You can hike the easy 4.4 mile loop , 640 ft. elevation gain trail up to Mirror lake, or continue up to the Tom, Dick, and Harry trail for even more breathtaking summit views of Mt. Hood (8.2 miles total, 1,500 ft elevation gain). NW Forest passes are required, daily permits available at nearby ranger stations.
Food carts are an iconic staple of the Portland metro area, and this massive pod is located just minutes from the wedding venue! 24 food carts surrounding a massive indoor beer hall, it's always nice to come here rain or shine. Great food, great variety, a favorite spot of ours!
Located literally across the street from Sandy River Gardens, this beautiful and delicious restaurant is a must for summer dining! We love our date nights on their outdoor patio overlooking the Sandy River. Great food and cocktails, we can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!
