Question

Can I bring my kid?

Answer

Please contact one of us via text or call before bringing your children unless it was specified that they are invited. We know this is stressful but our venue is very small and we need to be sure we have room for everyone. If your child is under the age of 10 please note that the venue for the ceremony and reception will both be serving alcohol.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Both the venue for the ceremony and reception will have a full service bar available to anyone wanting to partake. We will not be providing an open bar at either event. Please enjoy responsibly!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

There is no set dress code, however please dress nicely. You know… like you’re going to a wedding.🤷🏻‍♀️ It will likely be chilly especially as the sun sets. Make sure to have your bits covered 😬

What time should I arrive before the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is set to begin at 3:30pm. It will be a very brief ceremony. Please arrive between 2:30-3pm. The ceremony space will open to begin seating guests at 3pm. Seats are first come first serve (except for reserved front row seating) the remaining space will be standing room. (Relax, it’s a short ceremony, you can handle it!)

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We love that you want to come celebrate with us! Unfortunately, our venue is rather small and we have a lot of people we want to celebrate with. With that said, there might not be enough space to accommodate a plus one for all guests who may have one. Any couples invited together will be specified on the invitation. We will be hosting a celebration in the warmer months next year that you and your plus one can absolutely join us for! Please reach out via text with any concerns regarding this matter.

Hey… what’s the parking situation?

Answer

Since this is a smaller venue and Haywood Rd is known for lack of parking (IYKYK), please plan to arrive as close to 3 as possible to ensure you have plenty of time to park close by. There is parking at the venue, but it is minimal. It would be ideal if groups of people can carpool together to minimize the parking anxiety (again, IYKYK).

Where is the reception?

Answer

The reception will be held at Boomer’s Bourbon and Cigar Bar from 6-close. It will be ours for the night so no need to worry about smoke! As mentioned in another question, beer and liquor will be available for purchase. There will be no open bar. Enjoy responsibly 🥰

What’s the food situation?

Answer

After the ceremony we will have charcuterie available for grazing before we transition to the reception! Dinner: Buffet style- “a few of our favorite things” •Smoked Pulled Pork and Smoke Chicken from Assembly on Main in Waynesville, NC •Roasted Garlic Broccolini and Glazed Carrots from a close friend Caleb from Asheville Ghost Kitchen •Collard Greens and Corn Bread from Bears Barbecue in Asheville, NC Cake: In lieu of cake we will have two types of cupcakes! •Raspberry Lemon •Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting

What about gifts?

Answer

Y’all… we really don’t care about gifts. We just want to get married and have you there with us. With that said, who ever says they won’t accept gifts is a liar. If you feel inclined to bring or send gifts, please refer to our registry here on the Zola Wedding Website. It can be found under the registry tab. The gift we would like to prioritize is the cash fund on our Zola fund. Our goal is to buy a home in the next year and every penny toward that helps immensely. Thank you for being here with us either in person or virtually!

Can I take photos during the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Thank you for helping us to capture our special day! At the ceremony, please refrain from having your cell phones out as we would like to avoid them being in our professional photography shots. At the reception take all the photos you want! Make sure to send them to us as well! We will be providing disposable cameras to use throughout the events as well!

Reception to follow… but where? And when?

Answer

The reception will be held at Boomer’s Bourbon & Cigar Bar at 81 Coxe Ave Asheville NC. There is paid parking across the street and street parking. It is best to Carpool if possible to reduce the number of cars at the event space, but parking should not be an issue. The reception will be held from 6pm-close. The business will be open during the day so there still may be some lingering cigar smoke when we first enter, but the ventilation system will have it out shortly after. Due to ages of guests and health concerns we ask that if you purchase a cigar to smoke you do so outside or after said guests have left the event space.

Can we watch if we aren’t attending?

Answer

We will make sure to live stream the ceremony so you are able to be there with us from afar!

What if I can’t make it?

Answer

No problem! We understand that we are not giving you much notice. Please RSVP via the QR code on your invitation letting us know you will be unable to attend! We will be live-streaming the ceremony so you won’t miss out! In addition, we will be throwing a party to celebrate as it warms up next year and we hope you will come celebrate us then!
