FAQs

We will continue to update this page with answers to questions we hear from guests, so stay tuned!!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

July 20th 2018

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests may begin arriving at 2:30pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00pm.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are not registered. We are in the process of building a website gift registry. Please check back after July 1st and we promise it will be finished!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We want you to look your best, but in whatever way you feel most comfortable. The location is outdoors, though, so please keep in mind that you will be walking on grass and dirt pathways. Plus, keep in mind that Vancouver Island tends to cool down at night. While you'll probably want summery attire in the day, it wouldn't hurt to have some long sleeves for later on in the evening.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please do!.... please let us know, too, so we can keep accurate headcount.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Of course they are! Let us know if you are bringing little ones, as we are arranging for kid friendly food and want to make sure their bellies are full! Also, please let us know about any allergies, food sensitivities, etc.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We certainly do! There's camping, hotels, airbnb... Please see the Travel page for more details.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Guests can park in the field that is adjacent to the main house. Guests with mobility issues can drive down to the camping area. There will be parking attendants to assist you.

Question

Have you arranged transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

The Duncan area has taxi services available. Duncan Taxi: 250-746-4444 Country Cabs Duncan: 250-746-0009 We are looking into providing shuttle service back to your hotel. We would love to know if you are interested in using a shuttle on the night of the wedding, so we can make sure you have a seat. For public transit options, see the Public Transit FAQ.

Question

Is there public transit to the Maple Grove Guest House?

Answer

Public transit options are available. Check the BC Transit Cowichan Valley website for more details. You can take a number 7 or 2 bus from downtown Duncan, at Canada Ave, and get off right near the entrance to Maple Grove Guest House (15-25 minute travel time). For guests staying in Cowichan Bay, you can also catch the number 8 into Duncan, BC, where you can then hop on the number 7/2, or take a cab. We strongly recommend looking at the schedules and fares and consider catching a cab or renting a car, if need be. Please let us know if you would be interested in a carpool option and we can ask other guests.
