Anna and Kurt first met in 2021. Neither one of them really knew what to expect, other than that they were both teachers and cat parents. They had their first date at Sweetwater Tavern the night before Thanksgiving and ended up chatting for three hours! Needless to say, they both had a great first date story to share with their families. From there, they went on many more dates together, including walking through the Christmas lights at Meadowlark Gardens, ice skating, meeting Kurt’s friends at an ugly sweater party, a brisk winter hike in the Shenandoah Mountains, making homemade pizzas, bar trivia with Kurt and his friends, and a Villanova basketball game with Anna’s parents. Anna was quite impressed with Kurt’s knowledge of sports and other interesting facts, his punctuality, silliness, and his motivation for going to the gym daily or out for a run in the cold. Kurt appreciates Anna’s more relaxed sense of time, spontaneous adventures, and her wide taste of music. After over two years together, Kurt proposed in April at home with Anna’s cat, Finn, as the ring bearer. The past three years seem like they've flown by, and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with the people closest to them and begin their lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Goodfriend!
