Back when Ofer and I were still getting to know each other, I agreed to attend my first proper Israeli Shabbat dinner. We had been seeing each other for a little over a month and it was clear things were becoming more serious, even though I was a second semester senior and had no idea where I'd be in a few months. Ofer got up to wash his hands, and his friend Misha asked when we became boyfriend and girlfriend. I quickly responded that we aren't official yet, and Misha responded, "Oh, well he's already told me you're the girl he's going to marry!" To this day, Ofer denies that is true. But it was exactly the push I needed to initiate the what are we talk. Ofer, less familiar with American dating traditions, hadn't really ever had one. But that night, February 4, full of challah and wine, we decided to call it. We were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Two and a half (ish) years later, we will become husband and wife. I am forever thankful to Misha for prompting us to make the jump, and even more thankful he was right. Ofer, I cannot wait to be your wife and love you for the rest of our lives. To all of our family and friends, we cannot wait to celebrate with those we love most. Much love, Zoey
A week after Zoey graduated and we started long distance, not knowing when we will see each other next time, Zoey decided to come back to St. Louis for the weekend. And it was one of our best weekends together. It was the first time we had a weekend to ourself, with no interruptions from school or work, just the two of us. We watched my friend's dog and we kept joking that we were playing family this weekend, but all I could think was that it just felt right. The time we spent together, from walks in the park with our dog for the weekend, Ray, to Creve Couer Lake, to browsing Crate and Barrel, was so special. During this weekend, I knew what I wanted and how I saw my future, with Zoey, forever. Ofer
