Zoe was born and raised in Zhuzhou, China, and Mo grew up in Kansas City, Missouri—but somehow, they share the exact same birthday. They call each other “同同 (Tong Tong),” meaning “same same,” a small detail that feels like the beginning of something meant to be. Mo moved to Utah in 2020 for the mountains and snowboarding, and Zoe followed in 2021 to teach in a Dual Language Immersion program. They met on Hinge in May 2024, and after just two dates, Zoe returned to China for the summer. Despite the distance, they talked every day, building a connection that only grew stronger. When Zoe came back, what started as a simple match quickly turned into something steady and real—built through daily conversations, consistency, and choosing each other even when it wasn’t easy. In April 2025, during a trip to Hawaii where Zoe completed her degree, Mo proposed at the top of Waimea Canyon—a moment that marked the beginning of their next chapter. Now, they spend their time hiking, skiing, boating, and walking their dogs, grateful for a love that found them across continents, yet fits as if it was always meant to be the same.
