The DD Farm Animal Sanctuary was founded as an animal rescue and sanctuary. This non-profit organization takes needy, abused, or neglected animals and helps rehabilitate them and, in many cases, releases them into the wild. The sanctuary is home to several wild animals such as tigers, lions, ligers, wolves, jungle cats, and many species of birds. They also care for an array of farm animals including llamas, emus, turkeys, chickens, and ducks. Each year the center hosts an open house to show the community the type of work they do. Visitors can come to the sanctuary to volunteer by feeding animals, cleaning, and more.
