Lamar & I met for the "first time" at a dorm-room kickback the weekend before spring break 2018. Lamar quickly informed me that we had a class together, but I was convinced he was lying. I sat directly behind him and had never noticed the man who was going to be my future husband. But he sure noticed me! If you would have asked me three years ago if I thought I would meet the love of my life in Intro to World Religions, I would have sworn you were lying too! But I am sure glad I did!
During my sophomore year of Hendrix, in Intro to World Religions, a cute girl walked in and sat just a few seats behind me. I was going to get that girl to notice me. Challenge accepted. That class quickly became my favorite, I looked forward to seeing her every day even though she didn't know my name (yet). Then the weekend before Spring Break 2018 I finally got my chance. I told her we had a class together but she didn't believe me. She told me "No way, I would have seen you." I said, "Yeah, I sit right in front of you." She responded "What? No, you don't." That next Monday in class I said "I told you so." She never admitted she was wrong (still hasn't). A few weeks later, after walking her back to her dorm room. She told me "I could never love a boy from Texas." I told her challenged accepted. Fast forward three years, now she is going to be my wife. When I told people, I was going to propose to Zoe, they told me marriage is a challenge. I told them challenge accepted.
