U.S. citizens can travel to Greece for up to 90 days without a visa for tourism purposes, however you will need to apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) before arrival. The ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is a new travel authorization for non-EU citizens traveling to Europe. Cost: The ETIAS application fee is €7 (about $7.50 USD). Validity: Once approved, the ETIAS is valid for 3 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. It allows you to travel to the Schengen Area multiple times during this period. Eligibility: ETIAS is required for travelers from visa-exempt countries (like the U.S.) who are visiting the Schengen Area for tourism, business, or transit (up to 90 days in a 180-day period). It is recommended to submit your ETIAS application before purchasing your ticket to Greece.

For guests with a layover or stop in London before continuing to Greece, here’s what you need to know: -No Visa Required: U.S. citizens do not need a visa to visit or transit through the UK. -UK ETA Requirement: Starting in 2024, U.S. travelers will need a UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) for entry, even for a short stay or layover. -Cost: The UK ETA is expected to cost £10 (about $12 USD). -Validity: Once approved, the ETA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires. Application Process: Apply online via the official UK government website or via the app. Most applications will be processed within minutes, but it may take up to 72 hours, so apply in advance. The ETA will be electronically linked to your passport—no printout needed. If you plan to leave the airport and explore London during your stopover, make sure your ETA is approved before your trip. Otherwise, you can remain in the airport without one if you’re connecting to another flight.
