Zoe works here full-time with the best staff, coffee, and ambiance. Try the Seasonal Drinks! This also happened to be our first date before Zoe worked here! Open from 7AM-2PM weekdays. Open until 3PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
Lumberjack Cafe
Family owned with large servings! Always busy, but worth it if you're a breakfast person. Usually closed by 2PM.
Big Bear Alpine Zoo
A small, local zoo with rescued-only animals. There's a little playground at the end for kids, too. A must for first-time visits!
Tropicali
Almost nothing else is better than this place. Rated best restaurant in all of California! Best for lunch. Closed Tuesdays.
BodyTek Fitness
Johnson's family owns this gym if you need some activity. Please be aware that Big Bear is 7,000 feet into the sky and you should drink a lot of water.
Ski Beach Park
Great place for kids right by the lake! A 5 minute walk down the road past the baseball and soccer fields you'll find Meadow Park with more picnic tables, shade, and brand new playground.
Aspen Glen Picnic Area
This leads to a few good hikes!
Stanfield Marsh Boardwalk
You can go on the boardwalk toward Bear City, or walk along the bridge during sunset. The sky against the lake is beautiful all of the time.
Masala Craft Indian Cuisine
This ethnically owned restaurant is no joke. Johnson could eat Chicken Tikka Masala every day and be happy. Lamb Pasanda and Butter Chicken is also a good choice. They can customize spicy levels for you! Because being a wimp (like Zoe) is okay.
Stella Luna
Fantastic place for farmer-to-table experience. Lovely people and lovely food. Their Risotto is to die for. Try it for dinner! Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Open for Breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.
North Pole Fudge and Ice Cream Co
Local Dessert! Has literally everything candied, baked, fudged, dipped, iced, creamed, you name it!
