Eight years ago when Ian and Zoë separately decided to study abroad in Granada, they had no idea it would be the start of it all. Over the fall semester they became friends and soon started dating after a trip to Lagos, Portugal. They continued to explore southern Spain as they also deepened their relationship, ultimately deciding to continue dating long distance after returning to PLU and Gonzaga in the spring. Their remaining years of college were spent visiting each other's campuses and partying on both! After Ian graduated, he moved to Seattle where he worked from home and lived with friends for a year as Zoë lived with her parents while working night shift. The following year they moved in together in Eastlake, and shortly afterward welcomed their tiny best friend, Franklin. Since then, they've been enjoying their 20s by furthering their careers, hosting friends at their apartment, and going on exciting trips. In August 2025, they went on a trip through Northern Italy, their first time returning to Europe since study abroad. After exploring Lake Como and the Italian Alps, they met up with friends in Verona. On a beautiful summer day at a picturesque vineyard, Ian proposed to Zoë with a heartfelt speech and shaky hands. She said YES!
