A historic Italian port city, birthplace of Christopher Columbus, famed for its Pesto and Focaccia. Birth place of the fabric used to make denim jeans (Blue de Gênes fabric). Its narrow medieval alleyways will charm you and the stunning Palazzi dei Rolli will leave you in awe.
Defined by its historic rise as a powerful maritime republic (11th-18th centuries), Genoa became a major European trade and naval force, known as "la Superba" recognized for its wealth and impressive landmarks.
Genoa is perfectly situated in Northern Italy. About 75 miles (120 km) south of Milan. Turin, Pisa and the French Riviera (Monaco, Nice & Cannes) are also easily reachable either by car or train. Less than 25 miles (40 km) east of Genoa is the breathtaking city of Portofino. Other notable gems near by are Cinque Terre, Santa Margherita Ligure, Parragi & Camogli.
