Back in December 2015, I was preparing for a fun winter break that turned out to be even more special than I could have imagined. I had signed up for Birthright (a free trip to Israel for Jewish students) and was eagerly awaiting our departure date. I hugged my parents goodbye as I headed to the airport. I remember my mom waving goodbye while standing in the doorway and saying "come home with a nice Jewish boy!!" And that I did. Our time in Israel was magical. I went with my best friend and sorority little, Hannah (s/o tot he MOH) and Adam went with his fraternity big, Noskin. We packed a lot into those 10 days- riding camels together, spending Shabbat in Jerusalem, sleeping in a Bedouin tent and having the most delicious food, a trip to Tzfat, the Dead Sea, etc. I also met my grand little Sarah on the trip too (s/o). It was beyond amazing. But the real magic of the trip was the relationship that blossomed between us. After returning home to Ohio State for the Spring semester, I knew that he was the one (after only 2 weeks together...). We were absolutely inseparable and did almost everything together. From Gamma Phi date parties to ZBT formals, cheering on our beloved Buckeyes, studying in the library together, grabbing a bite to eat off campus, beat the clock, visiting my family in Sylvania, and experiencing the beauty of New Jersey and my very first NYC experience, our college experience was the best. After graduation, Adam moved to Canton, OH to begin his full time job as a materials science engineer and I started law school in Columbus. Despite being long distance for 3 years, Adam made such an effort to visit me multiple times a month, speak on the phone each night, and to intentionally strengthen our relationship. We even welcomed Judgey into our family during this time. As I was finishing up my fall semester of my 2nd year of law school, covid hit. After a few months, Adam decided to move back to New Jersey and work remotely. We decided that once I graduated law school, I would join him in Jersey and, besides choosing Adam, moving to Jersey is the best thing I've ever done.
