Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have a registry section on our website. We understand if guests may not prefer to travel with physical gifts, so we are encouraging gift/honeymoon funds on our registry instead. (If you do not yet see the registry section, we are currently fine tuning it and it will be up a little closer to the wedding!)

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We need to have our final guest count by May 15th, 2022, so please RSVP by then. The welcome event in particular is time sensitive and has limited spots available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Question

When should I book a flight? What should I expect?

Answer

We recommend as soon as you know you will be able to travel to Oahu. Flight prices can fluctuate anywhere from 300-600 for a round trip flight in July, so keep an eye out for prices and availability. From recent trips, we have noticed that flights tend to be cheapest around 3-5 months out. The flight to Oahu is typically 5 and a half hours, and we recommend flying out of LAX if you are coming from Southern California. Many flights from other airports, (such as San Diego and Ontario) in So Cal stop at LAX or San Francisco before heading to Oahu, so most flights from LAX are direct non-stop. If you've never flown before, we recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to give enough time for TSA checks. We have no way to anticipate how current Covid-19 travel rules will carry over into the next year, but we will update this as soon as we find further information. Current restrictions can be found at: https://www.gohawaii.com/travel-requirements

Question

When should I book a hotel? Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend as soon as you know you will be able to travel to Oahu. Hotels in the summer tend to fill up quick in Hawaii, especially those in Waikiki. We have a few favorites that we suggest on the Travel section of our website! There are many other options as well, so check hotel booking sites and keep an eye out for availability. AirBNB and VRBO are options for home rentals. There are very few hotels on/near the North Shore, but a good amount of home/condo rentals to check out. Most hotels are near Waikiki and neighboring urban areas.

Question

Will there be a room block at Turtle Bay Resort?

Answer

We have a select few available right now at a discounted price compared to the current room price on the Turtle Bay website. Contact us if you are interested in staying at the resort, depending on room availability we may be able to request more rooms for the block. We will be adamant about guests who want to request rooms from the block to be completely certain they will make it, as we will be liable to cover the cost of no-shows or cancelled reservations.

Question

When should I be on the island?

Answer

We would like guests to be on the island before 3pm on Friday July 29th, 2022 to be able to join us at the welcome event. Let us know if you will be there earlier for a vacation - we will be there!

Question

When should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We would like guests to arrive latest at the Turtle Bay Resort by 3pm on Saturday July 30th, 2022 to be on time and seated at the start of the wedding ceremony.

Question

What should I expect for traveling to the events and around the island?

Answer

We will not be organizing transportation for the events or wedding day due to the variety of places people might be staying. We recommend a rental car for the best possible freedom of travel. The longest drive would be from Waikiki to North Shore, which takes about an hour for driving, and other locations aren't too far of a drive. If you have enough time to explore the island, this would also give you the freedom to explore the many beaches and tourist locations.

Question

Is carpooling an option for travel?

Answer

Definitely! Let us know your situation and we might be able to coordinate with others who are staying nearby you regarding carpooling.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! Turtle Bay has its own hotel and beach parking, and we will provide further information regarding parking closer to the wedding. We don't quite know how the resort renovations affected event parking, but will update this accordingly after coordinating with the resort. Guests who will have their own vehicle rentals shouldn't have issues with parking for the wedding.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Zoe herself has an allergy to pine nuts, so she knows the struggle. Let us know when you RSVP and we will make sure to note it when we finalize the reception food options. We will also include some vegetarian options at the receptions. Contact us with any questions/concerns!

Question

We will be staying longer on the island for a vacation. What things should we do while there?

Answer

There's lots of things to do! There are so many beaches and natural areas to explore on Oahu! Check out the "Travel" section of our website for some of our favorite places! Feeling more adventurous or want to take some tours? Contact us and we can send you more info on some of the fun tours, events, and locations that we have done on the many times we've travelled to Oahu. Anyone interested in shark cage diving or ghost tours?

Question

What if I have a question that isn't here?

Answer
