Todo comenzó cuando Izka y Zlatko asistieron a un evento de trabajo obligatorio conocido como “La semana de Reclutamiento” en Raleigh, Carolina del Norte. Izka vivía en la Ciudad de México y Zlatko en Cleveland, Ohio. Durante esa semana Zlatko se enamoró de esta chica inteligente, sociable y, por supuesto, bastante guapa. Él quería tener una conversación informal no relacionada con el trabajo e ideó un plan para salir a bailar salsa una de esas noches con el equipo de Latinoamérica. Su amigo Han ayudó a coordinarlo (tenía acceso a una camioneta para transportarlos) y todos fueron a bailar. Lo que inició como un viaje de negocios, pronto se convertiría en una aventura transnacional. Zlatko nunca había bailado salsa en su vida, pero lo hizo bastante bien, ella le enseñó lo básico y no hizo el ridículo. Terminaron riéndose mucho y el grupo regresó al hotel ileso. Izka y Zlatko hablaron en la terraza durante horas y la conexión fue clara. Un día después se despidieron, Zlatko prometió visitarla en México. Spoiler: ¡lo hizo! A partir de entonces viajes interminables entre los dos a Cleveland, a México, a Cleveland, a México, a ¡Costa Rica! Luego de regreso a Cleveland, y luego de regreso a México. Esto duró algunos años. En algún momento de ese primer año estaban saliendo oficialmente, y en algún punto del año pasado, Zlatko finalmente le propuso matrimonio a Izkalotzin. A principios de 2018, ella obtuvo la visa de novia y se mudó a Estados Unidos donde se casaron legalmente en marzo. Después de años de una relación a larga distancia, cientos de formularios de solicitud de Visa, miles de mensajes de texto y una cantidad infinita de paciencia, el día finalmente ha llegado. La culminación, la celebración, LA BODA. No podríamos estar más contentos de que nos acompañen en Cancún para celebrar juntos este día tan especial. Ustedes han jugado un papel muy importante en nuestra historia y agradecemos la bendición de tenerlos en nuestras vidas. ¡Vamos a festejar!

It all started when Izka and Zlatko attended a mandatory work event known as a recruiter week in Raleigh, NC. Izka lived in Mexico City and Zlatko repped Cleveland. This fateful trip started as business, but soon Zlatko became enamored by this girl that was super smart, social, and of course, pretty good-looking. He had wanted to have a non-work-related casual conversation and devised a plan to go out dancing salsa one of those nights with the Latin America team. His boy Han helped coordinate (he had access to the vehicle) and they all went dancing. Zlatko never salsa danced in his life, but he made it work. She taught him the basics. He did not make a fool of himself, they ended up laughing a lot, and the group got back to the uninjured hotel. Izka and Zlatko ended up talking in the courtyard for hours and the connection was clear. A day later they gave their goodbyes, but Zlatko promised to visit her in Mexico. Spoiler: He did. And so it went. Endless trips between the two to Cleveland, to Mexico, to Cleveland, to Mexico, to Costa Rica (!), Then back to Cleveland, and then back to Mexico. This went on for years. Somewhere in that first year they were officially dating, and somewhere in the last year Zlatko finally proposed. Early 2018 Izka was finally granted a visa fiancee, and they were legally married in March. After years of long-distance, hundreds of Visa application forms, thousands of text emojis, at least 6 CD mixtapes, and endless amounts of patience, the day is finally arriving.
