Lower Falls via Bells Canyon Trail
Located right at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Get to know this 4.8-mile out-and-back trail near Sandy, Utah. On the top there is a gorgeous waterfall. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. It's been a family favorite for generations. It has blown up in popularity, but is still quiet mornings and weekdays. If the Waterfall is too far, there is a lovely watershed that is a mile hike and less than an hour to reach. That may be more beginner friendly. Park at the new upper parking lot for a short-cut
Rocky Mouth Trail
Still want a waterfall experience but looking for an easier hike? Check out Rocky Mouth Waterfall Hike. The worse part is getting to the trailhead through the neighborhood. Park in the small parking lot on the road and walk up the wooden steps. This will take you to the private neighborhood. Walk up to road to the trailhead. Then it's a short straight shot to a gorgeous waterfall/cave experience!
Donut Falls Summer Trailhead
Right up Big Cottonwood Canyon. This is your just right hike. The waterfall itself is very unique and where it gets it's name. This 3.2-mile out-and-back trail near Salt Lake City, Utah and is considered easy. Generally, it takes an average of 1 h 27 min to complete.
Bonneville Salt Flats
A drive, but travel to feel like you're on another planet! Densely packed salt pan in Tooele County in northwestern Utah. A remnant of the Pleistocene Lake Bonneville. Endless salt as far as the eye can see. Great for pictures.
Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point
Not looking for a hike? Go over to Thanksgiving point! Here you will see a lovely garden with stunning flowers and viewing areas. In the same proximity you can visit the Butterfly Biosphere.

A more casual breakfast setting. Great food, nice portions! Warning: it gets packed so early bird gets their pancakes.
The Philadelphian
Yummy, hot or cold sandwiches! I have loved this place since I was a girl and is the definition of a hole-in-the wall. While sitting inside might not be the best fine dining experience, I would recommend packing it to go and eating it nearby at Big Bear Park.
Slackwater Pizza SLC
Utah's worst kept secret! Yummy pizza and beer loved universally. Locals will continuously jab about this cool, hip spot.
Porcupine Pub & Grille
Yummy, yummy food! It's right by Little Cottonwood Canyon. Great for lunch, dinner or local beer. They have Pasta, Burgers and other Entrees. Fun desserts too! Depending on weather I would recommend sitting outside.
The Cliff Dining Pub
A date night spot made to wow! Fancy dinners, Brunch and more. Ask to sit outside for a view of the Valley. Ask for Izzy, so you can embarrass my little sister if she's working there.
