Things To Do

September is truly one of the best times to experience Rhode Island. Below are a few of our favorite ways to spend a day in the Ocean State.

Block Island

New Shoreham, RI

Just a ferry ride away! Block Island is an easy day trip with ferries departing from Point Judith in Narragansett. Spend the day walking around town, shopping, grabbing lunch by the water, relaxing at the beach, or checking out the bluffs and coastal views. It’s laid-back, scenic, and a great way to spend a full Friday.

Newport

Newport, RI

Classic coastal charm. Newport is an easy day trip with great views, historic homes, and a walkable downtown. Walk part of the Cliff Walk for ocean scenery, explore shops around town, grab a meal by the water, or take a drive along Ocean Drive for a scenic loop along the coast.

Narragansett

Narragansett, RI

September beach days are some of the best—warm water, fewer crowds, and plenty of sunshine. Some of our favorite beaches in the area: Narragansett Town Beach | Scarborough State Beach | Roger W. Wheeler State Beach | Salty Brine State Beach | East Matunuck State Beach | Moonstone Beach
