It all started back in 6th grade, in a shared health class where Brooke’s notes were apparently the hottest commodity in the room. After a few “Can I copy that?” requests, Brooke decided to make the first move — she asked him to be her boyfriend. His smooth, confident reply? “Let me think about it.” A few days later, on September 16th, 2016, he came around with a very romantic: “I guess so.” And just like that, it began — two middle schoolers making slime in front of her childhood home, completely unaware that they were shaping the start of something lifelong. They grew up side by side, spending holidays with each other’s families and building a bond that was always rooted in friendship. He’ll still tell anyone who asks, “She was my best friend before anything else.” Life took them on different paths for a while, and in 2019, their chapter together came to a close — or so they thought. But love has a funny way of looping back around. By junior year, he started staying after his English class just to see her walk into hers. (For the record, he remembers exactly what she was wearing: a red shirt, leggings, a black K-9 jacket, and red Converse.) On May 2nd, he sent a simple “Happy Birthday” message that somehow changed everything. A mall hangout turned into long talks, laughter, and rediscovering what had always been there. They skipped junior prom, but dressed up anyway — only to end up in the garage, building a LEGO fish tank in sweats. It was perfect to them. Then, on May 25th, 2022, he officially asked her to be his girlfriend (again). From there came holidays, anniversaries, inside jokes, and her mom’s constant “I always knew you two would end up together.” And she was right. Because on March 26th, 2025, in a small cave at Rock City, in Tennessee, he got down on one knee. They both blacked out from excitement (so the details are fuzzy), but they do remember one thing clearly: saying yes to forever. Each others first kiss, first love, and now — each others last and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with everyone!
