As many of you know, COVID-19 has restricted travel in many ways and has also limited the number of people allowed to gather in groups. We have adjusted our plans accordingly, including moving ahead with a smaller guest list, having hand sanitizer on site, and providing optional masks. We simply ask, if you are feeling unwell, please do not attend.
Yes! Please note for most of you travelling from Cranbrook and Calgary, Creston is an hour behind. Be sure to accommodate for this when planning your commute. The Ceremony is at 3:30 pm Creston Time.
This is a wedding and this is indeed a time to dress to the nines and look fly. With that in mind, we do want you to be comfortable and know what to expect (please no jeans!). The ceremony will be outside and will be a short, but standing event. This means being on your feet the entire time, and being prepared for either boiling sun or dreary showers (we hope not!). But perhaps reconsider the stilettos and have an umbrella in your car... In addition, please note we recommend sturdy shoes to climb up a hill to get to the ceremony spot (strapped sandals or flats are OK). You can bring the fancy shoes for later! The reception will take place in a covered building.
Most will be fully capable of reaching the top in 5-10 minutes (easily!). If you are worried about the heat, come a little early and take it slow.
HILLTOP CEREMONY 1132 - 27th Avenue, South Creston, BC As you approach the town of Creston from the East on Highway 3, turn left onto Erickson Rd. Follow this all the way down to 25th Ave. and turn left. Turn left onto Connel Rd. Turn right onto 27th Ave. The driveway will be on the left side and is recognizable by the blue Tilling's Orchard sign at the base of it. Follow this driveway past the buildings (on the right and left) and all the way up the hill (passing orchards). Parking will be directed upon your arrival.
DINNER & RECEPTION 4390 - 40th Street Canyon, BC Coming from the Ceremony, backtrack to Highway 3. Head East out of town. Watch for a lumber yard on the right. Turn right onto Canyon-Lister Rd. Follow this up. Turn left onto 40th Street. The driveway will be on the left hand side. Pass through the open black gates, following the winding dirt road leading through the field to the barn. Please park beyond the barn.
There are NO bathrooms at the ceremony location. Please use the washroom before you come. We will have a portable toilet available for guests to use at the reception.
The Reception will begin immediately after the Hilltop Ceremony. Guests can begin heading over to the barn as soon as festivities on the hill wrap up. Supper will follow shortly.
The evening will be 'modified' buffet style and we will have an assortment of dishes for you to choose from. If you have any major concerns regarding your meal, including allergies or restrictions, please message us.
Yep, you heard correctly! While we are not providing some crazy open bar, we are allowing you to bring your own drinks, should you so desire. We simply ask that you use your good senses. We trust your judgement, and hope you will respect ours. Wine and water will be provided.
Yes. ALWAYS plan to dance the night away. Always. So bring your dancing shoes, those wild dance moves, and your singing voice.
On our Registry page, you may have noticed we don't have any specific stores or gifts listed. We have decided that material items and appliances do not suit our next adventure, as we will not be furnishing a home or settling down right away. We plan to move our lives abroad, and embark on our next chapter in New Zealand. We are asking that you support us financially instead, as such a gift can be brought with us, and used to purchase necessary home items overseas.
