Nick and Zaira’s journey began on Bumble, where Zaira made the first move after being intrigued by Nick's rock climbing photos. A shared love for adventure and the outdoors sparked their connection, leading to their first date at the rock climbing gym. They immediately hit it off, bonding over shared interests, laughter, and a love of exploration. After a few months of fun outings to breweries and plenty of meals together, Nick knew it was time to take the next step. On April 25th, he asked Zaira to be his girlfriend, and from that moment, they were inseparable. But just as things were getting perfect, Nick had to leave for Kentucky to complete his ROTC training for the summer. This marked the first of several long-distance stretches they would face in their relationship, and they learned firsthand that distance truly makes the heart grow fonder. During one of those stretches, while Nick was in Missouri for EBOLC (the Army’s Basic Officer Leadership Course), he realized he couldn’t imagine life without Zaira. So, over Fourth of July weekend, he proposed. After Nick completed his training, they moved to Colorado Springs to start their next chapter together. Life in Colorado has been filled with new adventures, and they’ve especially loved spending time with their puppy, Olive, who’s brought so much joy to their home. Together, Nick and Zaira have built a relationship grounded in love, adventure, and resilience—proving that no matter the distance, they’re meant to be together. Now, they’re excited to celebrate their love with all of you.
