Friend of the bride. Janet and Nina have been friends since they were 3 years old when their fathers were graduate students at the University of South Carolina. And they also have the same birthday! Janet lives in LA and runs her own eco-friendly accessories business, Vere (www.shopvere.com).
Oren Shaked
Groomsman and Officiant
Friend of the bride and groom. Oren and Nina were classmates in medical school, and he became fast friends with James in residency over a common love of books and action movies. He was an early proponent of the relationship and now, 4 years later, will be officiating the ceremony. Oren lives in San Francisco and is a surgery resident at UCSF.
Stephanie DiFazio
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride. Stephanie and Nina met freshman year of college at WashU and have been friends ever since. They studied abroad in London together and share an affinity for all things dessert. Stephanie now lives in Brooklyn, NY and works as a lawyer for a pharmaceuticals company.
Igor Shumisky
Groomsman
Friend of the groom. Igor and James were two kindred souls in medical school, appreciating the finer things in life, such as dark beards and fine scotch. He now lives in Boston and is a pediatric emergency medicine physician and enjoys running health care startups in his spare time.
Kate Ross
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride and sister of the groom. One of Nina's favorite things about James is getting to have Kate in her life! A world-traveler, Kate previously lived in Bangkok and recently completed a Master's at Oxford. She now lives in London working for the UK's Department of International Development.
Piers Bonifant
Groomsman
Friend of the groom. Piers and James were rowing buddies when they were both in high school in England as well as cadets in the UK's youth marine corps. Piers now lives in Vancouver and enjoys traveling up and down the Pacific coast in search of the best surf spots.
