We matched on Bumble on May 12. After a couple of weeks, we exchanged numbers and had daily conversations. We finally agreed to meet at Bubba's 33 at approximately 7:35 pm......David was late because he had to pay a bill. He also had to leave early to go do laundry. Then came a second date, then third and fourth dates. Finally, we made it official on July 15 at BJ's Brewhouse. PS: Kayla would not leave David’s truck without getting a kiss on the third date.
So, it all started back on February 16, 2023 when I first went to San Jose Jewelers to look at rings. I had no idea what I was doing when I first walked in, but the owner of San Jose Jewelers helped me out a bunch and taught me a couple things about diamonds. Fast forward through several trips to San Jose Jewelers, and several months later, I picked up the ring from them. It was absolutely beautiful and just about near blinded me from shining in the sunlight outside the store. I kept it a secret and kept it hidden for awhile until I thought of a plan on how I was going to propose to Kayla and the right day. I showed my parents the ring, and then later that same week met Kayla's mom at Walk On's and asked her for permission to marry Kayla. Together, Kayla's mom and I coordinated getting family to meet at La Fiesta for the after-proposal dinner and celebration. But, my master plan for proposal was not done yet. With the help of my mom, she and I went to The Arboretum in Woodway where I found the perfect spot in front of the gazebo, and the flowers were blooming so it was going to be perfect. Now, I had to have someone to capture the moment when the proposal happened. I asked Klemson Plsek if she would take proposal pictures and she said yes in a heartbeat. I met Klemson the morning of June 24th and we scoped out some good spots for pictures and places for her to hide out. Later that day, I told Kayla we were going to Moroso's to have dinner since I made "reservations" there. I knew we would have to get dressed nice if we went to Moroso's, so looking good for the proposal was a done deal. Little did she know that I made no such reservations ;). I then pretended that I got a phone call from my dad saying that we had to go check out a plumbing job real quick at the Arboretum before we go to Moroso's since it was on the way there. Kayla was starting to get concerned that we would miss our "reservation" time. Klemson texted me that there was a wedding reception going on at The Arboretum's Pavilion and the couple were taking pictures where I planned to propose. I panicked a little bit, but I got another text saying that they were done taking pictures, so nerves are calming at this point. Kayla and I head to the Arboretum, and Kayla couldn't understand why I just had to go look at a plumbing job real quick, but I sold it good. We get to the Arboretum and there were cars everywhere from the reception going on. We park a little ways away, it's scorching hot, and Kayla is not happy with having to get out of the truck and walk in the heat and wind. She just wanted some food! So we walk down towards the gazebo and I start pointing out where a "water line" should go, and where would be a good place to put "the hose spigot". I knew Klemson was hiding somewhere close. I then walk up to the gazebo, Kayla is lagging behind a little bit holding her hair and not happy haha. I told her to come up closer by me and see where this fictitious hose spigot would go. Kayla was hesitant, but eventually came forward, and not expecting a thing. I took her hands, looked her in the eyes, turned her towards me, and got down on one knee. Then, Klemson came out and started taking pictures, all while I was pulling the ring box out of the front of my boot. Yes, I hid the ring box in the front part of my boot and she never noticed it the whole time walking towards the gazebo. Kayla said "YES!!" and the rest is history.
