Our story began in the heart of Downtown Halifax, aboard the Harbour Queen. Zen was the First Mate, steady at the helm, while I was behind the bar, serving drinks and stealing glances. From the moment our eyes met, something just clicked. The next day, we set sail together on our very first date - hoisting the sails of the Tall Ship Silva - and from that moment on, our hearts have been anchored to one another.

Our second Christmas together - my favourite holiday - was spent at my mom's warm cabin style home, nestled in the beautiful Cape Breton Highlands. After spending a cozy Christmas morning exchanging presents beside the Christmas tree, I went to freshen up. Zen called out "you forgot a present in the tree! It's for you." When I returned, there he was waiting on one knee, eyes full of love. In that instant, surrounded by the magic of Christmas, he gave me the greatest gift I could ever imagine!
