Things To Do

We're so excited for our friends and family to visit and explore the Bitterroot Valley where we live. The Bitterroot Valley runs north-south along the Bitterroot mountain range from the valley of Missoula all the way south almost to the Idaho border. The whole length of the valley has drainages coming down from the Bitterroots that have trailheads and forest service roads to explore. The town of Darby is five minutes from the ranch and has a grocery store, a couple restaurants and motels, and some western-style attractions. A half hour drive north from Darby is Hamilton, a bigger town with a cute main street, good places to eat and bigger stores. Multiple small towns break up the drive traveling up the valley to Missoula. The Bitterroot Valley is defined on the east side by the Sapphire range, and Lost Trail pass to our south leads down to Salmon, ID or forks east to the Big Hole Valley.
