Nevshehir airport (NAV)

Flights - from USA/International destinations to Istanbul international airport (IST) and then short flight to Nevşehir (NAV, *a little closer location, 4-5 flights from IST) or Kayseri (fewer flights from IST) *Turkish airlines are convenient (I am not endorsing them😊) as they have direct flights to IST from JFK, Houston IAH or other major cities around the world, and the connecting flight to NAV includes automatic luggage transfer to NAV without having to pick it up at Istanbul and recheck. **Transit in IST airport can be busy – the new airport is very nice, modern and spacious, potentially requiring a decent walk through immigration to the domestic flight area and there is a security screening to pass. ***In Nevşehir, when exiting the plane by walking, do not follow the crowd to the “domestic flights arrival”, you should enter the “international arrivals” section to get your luggage and pass customs - if you came from international transit 

Car rental from the airport – more flexibility for airport transfer and sightseeing Bus shuttle can be booked from the airport to Göreme. In that case, getting around town is by walking and taxi; to the sightseeing - taxi or bus tours
