It was through mutual friends of ours that we ended up talking and texting that fall. Paul was in Vegas and I was in Charlotte. Had our first date 12/26/14 and the rest is history!

Paul would joke how we were never going to get married & I would laugh & agree but would say if it ended up happening that’d be amazing. We were going on vacation to Charleston, SC & I had jokingly mentioned “ya know it’d be sweet if you proposed here”…little did I know! We had a beautiful dinner at Husk in downtown Charleston & went for a walk near the famous Pineapple Fountain. Paul said he had a surprise for me and to close my eyes & when I opened them he was on one knee with a beautiful LED light up box with the perfect custom ring (and his late Mimi’s diamond) and asked me if I’d marry him. My response… “Are you SERIOUS?!!!” on repeat as I’m crying. He assured me he was and of course I said YES! Found out later that he had talked with my Dad the year before when we visited & told him his plan about proposing and he had the ring with him in his carry on bag! Charleston is now a even more special place to us. ❤️
