It started as a simple plan. It started with a dreamy escape to wine country. Picture rolling green hills stretched endlessly, cows dotting the hilltops like something out of a painting, cruising along in a convertible with two dear friends. What I didn’t know was that Danny had a plan of his own. With the help of his friend Austin, he had quietly set everything in motion. While we were enjoying one of the many vineyard, they slipped away to inform the staff of the plan. By the time we finished at our table, we were invited to linger a little longer, to walk the grounds after closing. The entire vineyard was ours and it was golden in the early evening light. Danny suggested we take photos in one of the prettiest spots of my choosing. Our friends grabbed the camera, and he casually told me to turn around for the shot. Without a second thought, I did. By the time I realized the photo would look kind of dumb with our poses I turned around to tell Danny how that was a bad idea but when I turned around all I saw was the most beautiful three-stacked coffin ring I had ever seen. Being held by my favorite person on this planet. I didn’t even manage to say yes. I just started crying (with happiness of course! And disbelief!) because you see he had faked getting down a few times for a good laugh so that was what I thought might be happening at first. Nothing was posed. That’s why I’ll probably show everyone the photos of my red, puffy, crying face because while beautiful, they are really funny! 🖤 Zay
