Harrison and I would 10/10 recommend! You haven't experienced New Orleans until you've sung "When the Saints Go Marching In" at Preservation Hall. Opened in 1961 and intentionally preserved just as it was, this iconic venue lets you experience jazz the way it was meant to be heard.
One of my favorite things to do in New Orleans is grab a roadie after dinner and head over to the Frenchmen Art Bazaar. Browse through local artists and vendors, wander down Frenchmen Street and pop into the many music clubs along the way. Harrison and I always find ourselves at The Spotted Cat or Bamboula's, but you really can't go wrong.
You can easily spend an entire day, or even two, exploring the National WWII Museum. Home to an incredible collection of artifacts, many donated directly by veterans and their families, the museum brings history to life through personal stories, immersive exhibits, and firsthand accounts.
Looking for an excuse to ride one of New Orleans' iconic streetcars? Hop on the historic St. Charles Streetcar and make your way to Cochon Butcher, home to one of my favorite muffulettas in the city. While you're there, don't skip the mac and cheese or potato salad, everything on the menu is delicious. Even better, its just steps from the National WWII Museum, making it the perfect lunch stop before or after.
The Garden District is a side of New Orleans that feels completely different from the French Quarter and is well worth exploring. For the ladies, you cannot pry me away from Vintage Market by Trashy Diva. Located on Magazine Street, it's the perfect starting point for an afternoon of shopping. After you've explored, treat yourself to a crisp martini at Hotel Saint Vincent.
