Omar and Zarahi first matched on a faith-based dating app. Zarahi’s profile made a few things very clear—she hated mushrooms and was looking for someone who shared her Biblical values. Omar’s profile spoke of his love for God and family, which stood out right away. What they didn’t know then was that Zarahi had recently taken a break from the app to reset and Omar had only joined with the plan to stay on for one week. While Zarahi was back online, she wasn’t quite ready to jump into dating again. But on a hot Fourth of July, a friend convinced her to accept a dinner date—if nothing else, for the free meal. They met for dinner on July 8th. When told it would be a 30-minute wait, they both silently thought, "If this doesn’t go well, this could feel like forever." But it didn’t. Quite the opposite. Zarahi shared her adventures and childhood stories while Omar intently listened on, being the yang to a self-proclaimed yapper. Halfway through the evening, Zarahi knew that if Omar asked for a second date, she would gladly accept. They talked until the restaurant emptied out, only noticing the time when the servers started circling, ready to close. One date turned into two, then four… and soon, it was clear that they shared something truly special. Their beliefs, values, and sense of humor lined up in all the best ways. As they grew closer, they realized that God—in His perfect timing—had brought them together. On March 29th, Omar popped the question, and Zarahi joyfully said yes.
