We met at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia. Josiah noticed me first, but I didn’t pay much attention to him at the time. Slowly but surely, he started talking to me after Bible study or church, and eventually we began texting and calling each other. I was unsure about him, but one day while I was at the hospital, Josiah was one of the first people who reached out to me. We spoke for a couple of hours, after that I realized how thoughtful he was and when I was speaking with my good friend Oze (the maid of honor). We discussed how it wouldn’t hurt to give Josiah a chance, and that’s when he asked me out on a date. It was an amazing experience, as I had never been on an official date before. Then, two days later, on Valentine’s Day, he surprised me with a fancy dinner and a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta. That day, he made our relationship official, and I prayed to God for guidance in making the right decision. After a lot of prayer and discernment, I realized the Lord had blessed us by bringing us together, and we felt sure we could start a new life together.
