Zara & Alex

Step 1: Alex sets expectations for an Aug '21 engagement.

Step 2: In June '21, Alex and Zara drive Alex's brother-in-law to the airport for "his flight." At the airport, Alex surprises Zara with a trip to Iceland instead. In preparation, Alex stole Zara's passport, COVID vaccination card, and some clothes. Zara goes into shock. She asks if this is an engagement trip. Alex convincingly says no and reminds her that it will be in Aug. 

Step 3: Dinner in Iceland. Without Zara's knowledge, Alex asks the waiter to ask about their trip and suggest a “secret waterfall.”

Step 4: Drive to secret waterfall after dinner. Plans are temporarily thwarted by Zara jumping out of the car to join some sheep. (Note: Zara loves sheep.)

Step 5: Zara sadly leaves the sheep. Alex and Zara proceed up a hill. At the top, there is a trail with fairy lights and memories leading to a waterfall. Alex proposes at the end. His friend was a secret photographer the whole time. Zara goes into shock again.
