As fate would have it, Haley and Jordan met through Residence Life. Haley and Jordan were recruiting residence life professionals to come work at their respective schools, and they met through their supervisors. Haley made a strong first impression by making fun of Jordan for being from Utah (which she would later regret once she visited). The following night, there was a large networking social, and Jordan sat next to Haley where they talked and casually enjoyed each other's company. Haley ended the night feeling intrigued by Jordan, so she waited a few days, friended him on Facebook, and sent him a message about work to "break the ice". Naturally, Jordan didn't realize Haley was flirting with him since she initially messaged him about work. However, Haley convinced him to hang out with her. They had their first date the day before the world shut down due to COVID-19. They didn't know what would happen next, or if what they had would continue. Due to the pandemic, Jordan had to go back to Utah to live with his parents until colleges started hiring again. Jordan and Haley continued talking for about 8 months, since they both had this feeling that it was worth pursuing. After what felt like forever, Jordan got a job in Fond du Lac, WI, and he moved back here. They were both so nervous to hang out again, but so excited about what was to come! They were able to act like they hadn't been apart for months and started becoming big parts of each other's lives! Things got real when Jordan met Haley's dog, Tucker, who does not like men. After Tucker warmed up to Jordan after their third meeting (and some steak fed by Jordan), Haley knew Jordan was the one for her. They met each other's family and friends, were there for each other during job changes, moving houses, birthdays, moving in together, and everything life threw at them. Haley and Jordan went to Utah together, and Haley was humbled by how beautiful and fun Utah is. They've had so many adventures together and were incredibly happy. On November 13, 2021, Jordan proposed to Haley! Haley's brother and sister-in-law were in town visiting, and they went to the Ground Round (where Haley and Jordan first met) for lunch with Jordan's family. Before sitting down to eat, Jordan convinced Haley to go with him toward the river to look at a boat he "wanted to buy". It was cold and windy, but Haley went anyway to humor Jordan. As Haley pulled out her phone to write down the phone number for the marina, Jordan got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Haley cried, of course. Jordan likes to point out that he gave Haley "two outs" that day, as he asked if she was sure twice during the proposal, and she said "yes" both times. Haley's parents surprised her at the restaurant, and their families celebrated by having lunch, going to their favorite ice cream place, and playing games. Haley and Jordan are beyond excited to get married. They have an incredible love for each other and are so excited to be husband and wife. They're also so lucky and blessed that they have so many people who love them and have supported them throughout their relationship.
