Żaneta & Omar

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Żaneta Szambelan and Omar Suleiman
Zakopane is the heart of Poland’s Tatra Mountains — a region rich in local culture, wooden architecture, traditional highlander (Goral) music, and hearty mountain cuisine. It’s a place where nature and heritage come together. From cozy wooden inns to panoramic viewpoints, visitors can experience the charm of a living folk culture surrounded by spectacular landscapes. The town is also the gateway to Tatra National Park, home to alpine lakes, scenic trails, and dramatic mountain peaks. Whether you're looking to relax, explore, or simply enjoy the views, Zakopane offers something for everyone. Although Żaneta grew up in Poland’s capital city, Warsaw, her roots are from this region — she was born in the same province and spent many childhood holidays in Zakopane with her family. This area holds a special place in her heart, making it even more meaningful to share it with you all.

What to do: Gubałówka

What to do: Gubałówka

Take the Funicular or Hike up Gubałówka: We recommend all guests to visit Gubałówka Hill — it’s one of the easiest and most scenic attractions in Zakopane. You can take a short funicular ride (about 5 minutes) or walk up in 30–45 minutes. Once at the top, enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains, browse local souvenir stalls, and stop for coffee or lunch. It’s perfect if you have limited time or mobility. Attraction Recommendation: Gravity Slide on Gubałówka This 700-meter-long serpentine gravity slide is a fun attraction for both kids and adults. Riders sit in individual carts with hand brakes, controlling their speed as they descend down the track. It’s a thrilling and scenic ride located just below the upper Gubałówka funicular station. What to do: Morskie Oko

What to do: Morskie Oko

Visit Morskie Oko – the Most Beautiful Lake in Poland: Morskie Oko is a breathtaking alpine lake located deep in the Tatra National Park, surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, including Rysy — Poland’s highest summit. The hike to the lake is about 8 km one way (2–2.5 hours on a paved road), or you can take a horse-drawn carriage most of the way and walk the last 20–30 minutes. At the lake, you can relax on the shore, take stunning photos, or eat warm regional food at the traditional mountain hut (Schronisko PTTK). It’s one of the most iconic places to visit in the area.

What to do: Kasprowy Wierch

What to do: Kasprowy Wierch

Ride the Cable Car to Kasprowy Wierch: Take a scenic cable car ride up to 1,987 meters, right to the Polish–Slovak border, for some of the most spectacular views in the Tatra Mountains. The ride takes about 10 minutes from the Kuźnice station and offers breathtaking scenery along the way. At the summit, you’ll see dramatic ridgelines stretching into both Poland and Slovakia. You can take short walks along the mountain trails, snap panoramic photos, or enjoy coffee in the small café at the top. In winter, this is also one of the region’s most popular ski areas.

What to do: Wielka Krokiew Ski Jump

What to do: Wielka Krokiew Ski Jump

See the Wielka Krokiew Ski Jump (with Chairlift Ride & Pontoon Slide): Wielka Krokiew is Poland’s most famous ski jumping hill, regularly hosting World Cup competitions. Visitors can take a two-seater chairlift to the very top — the same spot where professional ski jumpers sit before their flights. The ride is available year-round and covers 356 meters, rising 133 meters in elevation. At the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of Zakopane and the Tatra foothills, and stand above the jump to feel what ski jumpers see before takeoff. For those seeking a bit of adrenaline, there’s also a summer pontoon slide (inflatable ride down the landing zone) — a fun, fast, and safe way to simulate part of the ski jump experience. A great attraction for families, sports fans, or anyone looking for something unique.

What to do: Thermal Baths

What to do: Thermal Baths

Relax in Thermal Baths: Thermal baths are one of the best ways to unwind while in Zakopane. These facilities use naturally warm geothermal water rich in minerals and offer a mix of relaxation, wellness, and fun — perfect for couples, families, or friends. Most complexes feature indoor and outdoor pools with views of the Tatra Mountains. 1. Chochołowskie Termy – The largest complex, with over 30 pools, jacuzzis, loungers, swim-up bars, and a big sauna & spa area. 2. Termy Bania – A modern spa with Relax, Fun, and Sauna zones. Includes hydro-massage, slides, fountains, themed saunas, and a snow room. 3. Bukovina Thermal Baths – A quieter, more romantic option with mineral-rich water, wellness area, saunas, and restaurant space. 4. Termy Zakopiańskie – The most central option with indoor/outdoor pools, slides, a lazy river, and a compact sauna area.
