We're getting married!

We met the summer following Stephanie's first year of college, while working a summer job painting houses. We were instant friends from that day and ended up having the same economics class the next semester back at college. We grew closer and spent college as best friends until COVID arrived, and we ended up spending a lot more time together until we started dating in April of 2020.

It was the day after my birthday (Steph's) when Zane had planned to have his sister and her BF at the time, to meet and take photos of the engagement at my favorite place- The Botanical Garden. When it came to my birthday weekend- I had asked Zane if we could go and he told me he had other plans and we'd do it tomorrow. I was sorta suspicious as we had discussed the idea of getting engaged and I had been waiting for so long! On the day after my birthday, we went to the arcade, then lunch and made our way to the botanical garden. We made our way to our favorite lookout spot and after a minute; another group in that area asked us if we knew anything about the "suspicious phone that was set up and angled towards us". Zane acted like he knew nothing and then directed me away from that area. (My suspicion was right so far) When we rounded to the SAME SPOT for the SECOND time; I knew. After a minute of looking out over the edge again, I noticed Zane was no longer behind me. I turned around the catch him mid kneeling and re-kneeling to fix his placement for the camera- LOL. It truly was the easiest yes I've ever said and best birthday present I could have ever asked for ~ Getting to spend everyday with my best friend. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in IOWA!
