First semester, freshman year, we both had Fashion Fundamentals in a lecture hall on Friday afternoons. Zane: I was talking with a group of friends before class started, when we saw another friend sitting across the runway (yes, of course there was a runway) with a cute girl that I'd never met before (aka Kellie). I texted the friend saying that she should come sit with us, and bring her cute friend. Kellie: I had run into a high school friend before class started and we decided to sit together through the lecture. She showed me a text that she got from a guy friend across the room, saying he thought I was cute. I was immediately curious, I didn't know there were any straight guys in fashion school :) We were introduced after the lecture and soon became friends since we realized we had other classes together. We started hanging out and February 1st, 2013 we officially started dating!

6.5 years later, we were taking a trip to Philly for a fun summer visit with Zane's brother and sister-in-law (shout out to Mason and Kira!). Kellie: I was expecting a totally casual weekend, just hanging out and having fun, like our normal visits. Everyone did a REALLY good job of hiding the fact that there was a special plan unfolding. We went to brunch and biked around, getting all sweaty and not very cute. And then headed to what Mason called a 'garden' that turned out to be one of my favorite places in the world, Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. I was totally oblivious, wandering around, taking selfies, completely unsuspecting that anything was about to happen! Zane: I had previously talked to Mason and Kira and came up with the plan. Mason strategically played dumb about "getting tickets from work" for a "garden". Kira had the idea to bike around to keep Kellie from being too much in her head (she literally asked me up until the last moment if I had the ring yet). At the Magic Gardens, I let Kellie wander ahead so that I could get the ring out of Kira's backpack (I couldn't carry the ring, Kellie is too observant & would notice if I had it). We came upon a room that was a little secluded and was a perfect photo op. I had Mason and Kira "take our picture" which was code for taking a video. Then got on one knee and asked the girl of my dreams to be my wife. She said yes :) And here we are now! Can't wait for you all to participate in the next segment of our story.
