Meeting Zane

I was barely 17 and began as a part-time hostess at The Boathouse restaurant in March 2014. Zane was 19 and the very sweet and quiet barback. I was attracted to his work ethic since day one. It was the secret smiles meant only for me, and the countless notes exchanged, sharing a burger and fries and spicy aioli sauce on the side most Fridays, the pizookie desert on the nights we closed together. What started out as coworkers lead to a friendship and soon a relationship that never stopped growing. Then began our long road trips, diner breakfasts, West Virginia visits, Blue Ridge hiking adventures, brewery exploring, Kings dominion weekends, and that field we danced together for the first time.. until the neighbor caught us! That was the night you told me I was beautiful. When we met we enjoyed the perks of being naïve and making money without the burden of rent or bills being due yet. We've been lucky enough to experience our late teens together as well as entering early adulthood, and it will be an honor to spend the rest of my years with Zane. I love that we both have big families that have even bigger hearts, and whom of which have embraced our love since the very beginning. As we always say, it's not about giving 50/50%, but 100% each!

Meeting Kara

The first time I heard the name Kara was when my little sister Sarah came home from her job orientation bragging about how she had just met her new best friend. I'm pretty sure I laughed in her face at the time but I also thought that as the older brother, I should approve of this new best friend. The next evening I ended up working with this Kara girl. I remember walking toward my work station, glancing to the hostess station, gazing eyes with this stunning redhead, and then looked straight back at my work station. Honestly, I don't think I said a single word to her that night. If I did I'm sure it was something cringe worthy. All I know is that I liked her from the start and I'm pretty sure she liked me too. Of course, we did start talking and from there most nights were spent making funny gestures to each other from across the restaurant or passing top secret notes to each other before we could finally get an actual conversation in after work. One thing led to the next after that. We enjoyed binge watching Netflix and literally rolling on the floor laughing together. We took sporadic road trips to wherever we felt like going to that day. She was magnetic from the start and I couldn't get enough of her. Our relationship grew slowly, but it grew extremely strong and passionate. We have since made our way through several chapters in our life together to where we still binge watch Netflix and take sporadic adventurous trips together, only now we do it with adult jobs and bills. I cant wait to spend the rest of our life together. Long story short, I guess you could just say that I highjacked Sarah's best friend…sorry Sarah.
