We met at Cleveland State University in the Fall of 2013 where we were both employees in Enrollment Services at the time. We had crossed paths at various meetings and university functions but never spoke. Until, one day, we had a serendipitous conversation in which Tara remarked "I like that you're bold & daring!" When I heard this my ears perked up like a German Shephard ;) Shortly after that, we went on our first date. We dated for a few years, went our separate ways, and then realized that life wasn't the same without each other. A random chance phone call reconnected us and we've been back together ever since.
Zachary proposed Christmas morning 2018. Zachary had me open my gifts in an order of size, larger gifts first. Eventually, I had one "small" gift left, which he placed under our 2nd tree. I will admit, when he told me I had one gift left in the other room, my heart skipped a small beat. Once I saw the small wrapped gift under that tree... my heart skipped a BIG beat. I immediately got the same feeling I used to get when I was a little girl waking up first thing Christmas morning, that eager anticipation of wanting to rip open my gifts to see what was inside. I sat down to open my gift, Zachary told me I had to stand (as he got down on one knee) and the rest is just a happy blur of tears and happiness.
