Emily and Christopher met at a fundraiser in Hartford, CT. They spent the entire event bonding over their interest in politics, music, and food, and ended the night sharing nachos and burrata and being asked if they were dating. It only took a few weeks before they realized the strength of their connection, spending every spare moment together and planning trips to explore New England. They discovered they shared passions for history, architecture, and public service. Even through their relationship was new, they found ways to stay connected through the pandemic and have continued to support each other's personal and professional growth.

While on a trip to Amsterdam, Christopher proposed to Emily at Graham's Kitchen, surprising her with a ring made by an Old Wethersfield Jeweler, bringing together their roots in the community, the uniqueness of their love, and stones from his Mother's engagement ring.
