After calling dibs at the beginning of their relationship, Zaley bought an engagement ring in March of 2022 and scouted out potential places to pop the question for nearly a year, waiting for Claire to give the “go ahead” signal. Finally, at the beginning of 2023, she finalized her plan and made all the arrangements. With the help of a few friends and walking through several feet of snow, Zaley picked the perfect spot at Red Butte Gardens. On their third anniversary, they went on a date up to the gardens. They walked down by the creek and the snow blanketed covering the valley, and Zaley signaled to her friends to get ready with their cameras. They arrived at the water pavilion where a trail of rose petals led to a blanket and candles. Zaley got down on her knee, pulled a tiny ring box from her crew sock, and asked Claire to marry her. Obviously, she said YES!

We met in Provo, UT as roommates while we were attending BYU. Over time we became friends, became ministering companions, and spent A LOT of time together. A few weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic began, we began dating.
