I first met Hope at our study abroad meeting for our Spain spring break trip in 2019. Up until that point, I had not been a believer of "love at first sight", but from the moment I laid eyes on her, it truly was something special. Throughout our trip, this feeling continued to grow for me with each conversation we had, all the laughs we shared, and through all the adventures we experienced together. A couple of memories really stand out to me from the trip that helped to solidify our newly forming connection. The first was at a night club in Barcelona where (thanks to some liquid courage) I asked Hope if she wanted to dance with me. I guess my awkward dance moves must've really sold her because she said yes! The other memory was at The Prado art museum in Madrid. Both of us had originally been exploring the museum with different groups but got separated from them. When I was looking around, I ran into Hope who also happened to be walking alone, so we spent the next 2 hours checking out the museum by ourselves. I believe that it was meant to be that it just ended up being the two of us as I think this could technically have been our "first date". Almost immediately after returning home from Spain, Hope invited me to go out to the movies with her in Troy and the rest is history. Since that time, we have been able to make so many memories together and I truly love her more and more with every passing day. I am so excited to experience life and all of our future adventures together. I cannot wait to marry the love of my life this year!
My first memory of meeting Connor was at our Spain study abroad meeting. He reached across me to introduce himself to the girl on the other side of me, Lexi. I was so irritated. Then I found out that this weird dude with a McLovin fake ID for his profile picture had no car and needed to carpool with me and Lexi to Atlanta to fly out to Spain. I thought, "Who lives in Troy, Alabama and doesn't have a car?" We made him sit in the backseat by himself the whole 3 hour drive. Turns out though, that despite my efforts to ignore and exclude him, we got along really well. We just clicked! It took me approximately one hour of being home after we got back from Spain to realize that I missed talking to Connor. I ended up texting him, and within two days, I invited him to see Captain Marvel with me. I have Mercedes to thank for giving up her ticket so that I could impulsively invite Connor on our first of many dates. Neither one of us had planned on dating anyone seriously, and yet we couldn't stay apart. He drove to Ohio during summer break to visit me, and ended up meeting and staying with my grandparents and half of my cousins. That was when we had been dating about 4 weeks... Within the month, he offered to fly me up to Wisconsin to meet his family. The rest is history! Over the past nearly 4 years, Connor has made such a continuous effort toward me and our relationship. He has been the most supportive significant other anyone could ask for! Together, we have experienced undergraduate school, being apart during COVID, joining the Navy, starting medical school, boards, deciding what specialty and residency I will pursue, etc. He has always encouraged me to go after what I want, even when it is not convenient for him. I am so excited to spend the rest of our lives together! I know that we are so lucky to have found the love and friendship we have with one another, and even more lucky to have found it so soon in life. I don't have a clue what our life will look like, but I know it will be a good one with Connor by my side. Let's Get Married!!!
