From Seattle: starting in May 2026 Alaska Airlines is adding a direct flight Seattle to Rome.

There are many connecting flights from Rome to Catania, Sicily.
From Portland: The easiest at the moment is with Delta's direct to NYC and connecting to the (new in 2025) direct flight from NYC to Catania, Sicily.
Castello San Marco is now taking reservations for June 2026, there are approximately 30 rooms. We are staying there for the night of the 27th.

There are several hotels very close by to Castello San Marco but the castle is located between the beautiful cities of Taormina (20minutes) and Catania (45minutes). Sicily is an amazing region of Italy and of course we suggest to rent a car and explore the island if you have time.
