Zak and Kelli’s “How We Met” story is something out of a fairy-tale. A tale as old as time, that includes an unexpected meet-cute, drinks, and dancing at the classiest establishment Lincoln has to offer, The Fat Toad. Kelli had just gotten out of a relationship and Zak was experiencing a series of bad dates. Both had sworn off dating, until that fateful night. Kelli spotted an attractive guy at the bar and after receiving a quick boost of confidence from her friend, Kelli made the decision to go talk to him. She remembers commenting on the tattoo and asking him if he was in the military. Zak informed her that the “Tough Willing and Able” tattoo is a representation of his grandfather. Shortly after the conversation began, Kelli’s confidence (or her buzz) began to collapse and she retreated to a booth with her friend. Kelli and her friend decided to end the night with some dancing and move on to the next bar, The Fat Toad. While Kelli and her friend were waiting in line to order drinks from the bar, she noticed the same guys from Iguana’s sitting at a booth near the bar. After her friend basically threatened Zak into taking Kelli’s number, he asked Kelli to dance. Keep in mind, this was the end of the night and both parties had a bit too much to drink, so the dancing was…majestic. If you’re friends with Zach Schaefer, you may have been lucky enough to witness those dance moves, as he was recording the whole thing and posting the videos to his snapchat. In a tragic end result…all evidence of that video has been deleted. -- Shucks.
