During January, you can drive into & explore the park without a reservation! Trail Ridge Road (the main highway through the park) is closed but lower-elevation roads like Bear Lake Road remain open depending on weather and plowing conditions! Rent snowshoes or microspikes from Estes Park Mountain Shop and explore scenic, beginner-friendly trails like Bear Lake, Dream Lake, or Sprague Lake.
