So many options n the city! Our recommendation: If you plan to be in Old town, probably better to stick to the hotel. If you intend to be around more the modern city of Istanbul, we marked the zone that makes sense for you to stay We do not recommend staying in the Asian side. No issues or risks. Just transportation would be more difficult. We suggest day tours to places like Kadikoy, Moda etc on the Asian side vs staying there.
