Our love story actually began at a women's retreat for me. I went with 3 other women, which one was Zack's sister and two more. One of the other ones were trying to set me up with a guy for a few months before this retreat. Well, I found out at the retreat, the two woman had been talking behind my back. Next, thing I know one night at a worship service this friend of mine and Zack's sister showed me a picture of Zack. I didn't think much about it at first because she had been talking about setting me up forever. We went home from the retreat and they would not be quiet about Zack. His sister tried to get me to meet him a couple of times before I actually did. I always had an excuse like I was going to my parents that weekend or I am just too busy. Zack's sister even offered that I could meet him at her house during like a game night. I also remember her inviting me to one of her son's football games but I didn't go. I also know that he went to church a couple of times to try and meet me but that didn't happen. All this happened over about 2 months and then we finally met. We met at the church's Halloween party. That is where his sister introduced us to each other. She asked me before then if I was wanted to meet him and she told me a little bit about him. After we got introduced, we got each other's numbers from his sister. I think it was the day after we met and we started texting each other. Then, we started to hang out by eating out, going shopping, and going to family events together. I think it was only a month into dating that he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was a night where we went to Hobby Lobby and we ate out after that. He asked me to be his girlfriend inside Fuzzy's where we were eating out. Since then, it has just been getting better and better.
Have you ever heard of an engagement during a 50th anniversary party? Well, I have! That is what happened to me! It was during my parents' 50th wedding anniversary because everyone I wanted to be there for my engagement was there so Zack decided to do it then and there. My parents loved it! They said that it added something to their party and for me it is something that I can look back on and it will be a great but simple memory.
