"Would you like to play with some dirt?"

A "dirty" love story

Way way back in the Summer of 2012, a clunky Junior on the UCLA baseball team began his first class of summer school, GeogM127: Soils and the Environment. This clumsy kid had just spent the summer lifting weights and was feeling pretty good about himself. So when he saw a cute Senior blonde in her "Dance Team" backpack walk into class a few minutes late (shocker...), he thought he might have the courage to actually say something to her. It took him 4 weeks... A few glances and smiles were exchanged in that first month of class, but no words. So when the professor told the class to split into groups for an in-class assignment, he knew had his in. The assignment required the class to feel different soils in order to identify their composition. So now, not only did he have his opportunity to speak to her, he had a line too. We can only presume, she, sitting behind him staring at his big head and large ears, was quietly wishing he would turn around and ask her to join his group. So once can only conclude that when he turned around and unleashed the most daring opening line of all time, "Would you like to play with some dirt?", her heart skipped a beat as she knew she had met her match. This is at least how I like to think of our love story. Many years and many miles later, we are ready to form our union once again, only this time with much cleaner hands. We are proud of our relationship. We see each other as equals who love and cherish one another. As we enter into the covenant of marriage today, we look forward to a lifetime of love, unity, and equity, for we know that together is how we are meant to be. Love you forever T, Zack
