can i bring a date?

due to limited space (no really, it is a VERY small venue!!), we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. if you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP!

we love kids, however, our wedding will be an adults-only event!

what is the dress code?

Answer

the dress code is semi-formal! if you would like to play a part in the visual story we intend on our photographer capturing throughout the evening, we suggest wearing colors such as green, plum, rose, brown, beige, and tan. avoid primary, bright, and stark colors if you wish to match the venue!

where should i stay?

for guests outside of the wedding party, we have blocks reserved at a nearby holiday inn express with the address 12381 felch st in holland. if you wish to book, please use the booking link below or call the hotel direct so that you get the lower rate. the rate will show the average over the three weekend days, but guests can adjust to 1, 2 or 3 nights. the block will expire on 09/03/25: https://shorturl.at/GkCzE

how do i get to the venue?

the venue address is 6024 chicago dr in zeeland, mi 49464. it will show as glass house creative community in maps. when you make it to chicago dr, the entrance can easily be missed! look for a white house, black barn and black mailbox as you approach. the venue is about 15-20 minutes from downtown grand rapids to the east and holland (along the lakeshore) to the west, and it's a 30 minute drive to the grand rapids airport. we recommend carpooling or taking an uber from your hotel as there is limited parking on site.

what should i know about the venue?

the ceremony will be outdoors, weather permitting, followed by a dinner inside the glass house (gravel flooring). everything is within a few feet so not much walking is required! there are bathrooms on site. the venue grounds are very small - whatever you are thinking, think smaller! we thoughtfully chose this setting for a more intimate environment with our closest family and friends. weddings by the glass house are hosted by a group of co-creators meaning our vendors work together for all weddings at this venue. the owners - chris and becky - live here and therefore put a lot of love and care into hosting and events. we instantly connected with the idea of an intentional gathering space and cannot wait to share our special moments with those we love near.

will alcohol be served?

yes! we will have signature cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. it will be an open bar with bartending services from the petite bar!
