FAQs

Question

Why Joshua Tree?

Answer

You'll see when you get there! Joshua Tree is a truly magical place. We knew we wanted to get married in nature, somewhere fun, and once we saw this venue, we couldn't pass it up.

Question

What type of weather should I expect?

Answer

Please be prepared for drastic swings in temperature from day to night. During the day, we're looking at up to 90 degree temperatures but dry! At night, temperatures could drop to the 50s / 60s. Be prepared with lots of sunscreen, clothes for hot days, and layers for the night.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Everything in the area is relatively close together: Pioneertown, Rimrock, Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree. If you are booking an Airbnb, you could get one in any of those areas and be within about 20 minutes drive of most things. We recommend looking at how close your accommodations are to Pappy & Harriets since the wedding is a 5 minute drive away from there and the pool party is about 10 minutes away.

Question

Should I fly to LA or Palm Springs?

Answer

We recommend flying to Palm Springs for convenience. The drive is pleasant and 40 minutes from Palm Springs to Pioneertown. However the airfare could be slightly more expensive depending upon where you're traveling from. (Also it's a small airport with limited direct connections.) For our international friends, LAX is a great option. It's a 2 hour drive, much of it is beautiful, and - if you get stuck in traffic - you'll feel like a local! Airfare is likely more affordable and LAX connects to basically everywhere.

Question

What should I wear for the wedding?

Answer

Whatever you'd like! We recommend bringing a shawl or jacket in case the temperature drops, and we discourage wearing stilettos due to sand and uneven ground at the venue. If you’d like a little more guidance, think semi-formal cocktail attire that’s desert appropriate... But feel free to play it up since we are in the desert! If you have a bolo tie or some cowboy boots, this is a rare opportunity to break 'em out!

Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

We love your kids! Unfortunately there have been sightings of the mythical Chupacabra in the Pioneertown and Yucca Valley area. Kids sadly are not invited to the wedding to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment. However please let us know if you are planning to bring your kid for the vacation - they are welcome to join us at the pool party and we do have a few babysitter referrals.

Question

Do I need a car?

Answer

We recommend a rental car for your weekend in the High Desert. We will have shuttles available the night of the wedding and there are limited Ubers in the area, but a car will likely make your life a whole lot easier for the other weekend events. Let us know if you need help coordinating a carpool.

Question

Is there cell service?

Answer

Don't count on it! Service is really spotty around Joshua Tree & Pioneertown.
