One of the main reasons we chose this venue is to give people a true destination wedding. Estes Park neighbors Rocky Mountain National Park which is absolutely gorgeous and supports incredible wildlife (elk, bighorn sheep, moose, etc.). If you plan to use our wedding for a weekend trip to the national park like we hope you do, we've got you covered below. Packing lunch for the day? Grab sandwiches at Notchtop Bakery & Café. Open everyday at 7am Elk/Moose looking: Hike Bear Lake Road at 6-7am (reservation required! Go to national park website to reserve. Reservations open about 6 weeks in advance. Easy hike: Sprague Lake Loop (0.6 miles) Easy hike: Wild Basin Area (0.7 miles) Moderate hike: Alberta Falls (1.6 miles) Moderate hike: Gem Lake Trail (3.2 miles) Moderate hike: The Loch vale (5.0 miles) Outside of hiking, highly recommend stargazing. Rocky Mountain National Park is designated as an International Dark Sky Park, so the stargazing here is exceptional. If you go, bring some blankets!
