Best Man
Billy has a level of enthusiasm for life that is unmatched. If we’re at the mountain, he needs to be the first one down. If we’re throwing axes, he feels the need to challenge the guy running the place to a competition. He's brought that same level of enthusiasm to our friendship over the years which has led to us having countless great adventures together.
Maid of Honor
Sara is my lovely sister and my very first best friend. She always took care of my brothers and me growing up and it's no surprise that such a nurturing person became a great mom to my niece and nephew. Truly a goofball and a sap, she is always available for a good laugh or a heart-to-heart.
Groomsman
Joey and I actually met in a Macro Economics class at Champlain College, but didn't become friends until years later. In the years since, we've managed to go on vacation climbing in the British Virgin Islands twice, skiing at Mammoth in California, we've enjoyed powder days at Jay Peak, (the only place on the East Coast Joey thinks is worth snowboarding) and extremely icy days at Stowe. Joey is always up for an adventure, as long as it's okay if he shows up a day late.
Bridesmaid
Dafne has been my best friend since high school - from shenanigans in the computer lab to trying to keep each other awake in biology class, we were inseparable and partners in crime. Sixteen years later and living a few states away from one another, we are still such good friends that it seems like no time has passed at all.
Groomsman
My friendship with Junker began in China where we had an eventful two weeks of travel; learning to navigate the hutongs of Beijing, exploring the night markets, and even having a snowball fight on the Great Wall of China. We share an appreciation for cars, which is good for Julia and Maddie, otherwise we would likely drive them insane with our fascination of all things fast. You never quite know where the night is going when Junker is involved, but it's always memorable.
Bridesmaid
I remember meeting Maddie on New Years Eve in 2016 and by the end of the night, she and I were talking to one another as if we had known each other for years. Frequently referred to as "Mom" by some of the boys in our friend group, she accepts the challenge of wrangling everyone in our adventures while also being the life of the party.
Groomsman
Andrew and I were sibling rivals growing up and were constantly at each other's throats. No matter how much we argued, Andrew always had my back and could always make me laugh, even when I was angry with him. He's someone I've looked up to in life and I'm so impressed with all that he has accomplished and the man he has become.
Bridesmaid
Shelby was my college roommate at the University of Vermont and she and I became friends almost instantly. We spent mornings cursing at Bertha the Coffee Maker, countless nights listening to songs where I butchered the "actual" lyrics, and almost every moment smiling and laughing with one another. I am so lucky to have been paired in college with such a great human. Love you, Muffin!
Groomsman
Billy and I have been friends since freshman year of high school, we've done everything from run track to build a longboard to work together, and it seems that no matter what we are doing together we always manage to find a way to have fun with it! Billy is possibly the most dependable person that I know!!
Bridesman
If Otis were to have a godfather, it would most likely be Saket. I always have a great time with Saket whether we're going out for a drink after work, having a friendly debate, talking about science or singing karaoke (at the bar or in the car). He's an amazing artist, a good person and a great friend.
Groomsman
Phillip, Flip, Flippy, Felipe - my little brother and homie. Though he is the youngest of the Varao clan, I feel like Phillip is wise beyond his years and has more figured out than the rest of us. I'm always happy to spend time with Phil - even when he's kicking my butt in Mortal Kombat.
Bridesmaid
Rebecca is my sister and possibly the most competitive person that I know, no matter the game or the sport being played she always plays to win and more often than not she does.
Groomsman
Jesse was one of the first friends I made at the climbing gym, he and his girlfriend were often in the bouldering area and seemed like they knew what they were doing so I bothered him about beta on problems I couldn't figure out. Now we find ourselves climbing, skiing, going to breweries and talking about classic cars together on a regular basis.
Bridesmaid
I was introduced to Jamie by Zack when he started getting into climbing. He told me he knew we would get along, and he was right! Whether we're skiing, climbing or just hanging out and chatting, it's never a dull moment with Jamie around. She's my Portuguese sista from another mista! As a friend to both Zack and me, I couldn't be happier to have her be a part of our big day!
Groomsman
Jonathan and I have been friends since freshman year of high school. After which, I managed to convince him to move to Vermont for 2 years and live in a house with 6 roommates, one of which was the bride-to-be. Jonathan doesn't particularly enjoy the cold, but to prove a point he refused to wear a winter jacket during his first Winter in Vermont. He's the most naturally-funny person I know!
Bridesmaid
My Shivvy - she is a force to be reckoned with (in the best way possible). Shavon is such a powerful, loving and caring individual. I knew when I met her, I found a friend for life.
Groomsman
Nick and I became friends on a class trip to China, where even though we had never spoken a word to one another all semester, we managed to spend the majority of our two-week trip together along with Junker. Not too long after our return to Vermont, Nick convinced a small group of us to go out for dollar beers every week, and now almost every member of that group is in the wedding party!
Bridesmaid
Monica and I met when we worked for a clinical toxicology lab in Burlington, VT. From the beginning, we started bonding over common music interests and having similar senses of humor. Soon after that, we started getting in trouble at work for having too much fun and our manager had to separate us like we were kids in school. Needless to say, I love this woman, she is a riot.
Groomsman
Steve and I have known each other for 16 years and still manage to see each other on a regular basis. We have been mistaken for brothers or twins on numerous occasions, which is always funny seeing as Steve actually has a twin brother. We've had a lot of good times doing everything from just hanging out to going skiing and snowboarding to traveling, we always seem to have fun together.
Bridesmaid
When Jen and I worked together at Alnylam, we were always by each other's side - so much in fact, that people would say she was my "work wife". Our adventures started with going to Pokemon raids or getting lunch at Fuji and now we get together for doggie play dates and video games. Jen is a nighttime gamer, so we may have to wake her up for the ceremony. Just kidding, love ya Jen!
Ring Bear
Otis is our giant goofball of a dog who we wouldn't be able to get married without. He is all we've been able to talk about since we got him and love that our venue will allow him to be our ring bear(er).
Flower Girl
Amelia is my incredible niece with quite the personality for a five-year old! Every time I see her, I'm amazed at how great of a kid she is and how grown-up she has gotten. She really does say the darnedest things and has a laugh that is contagious. Though a professional hide-and-seeker, she's no match for her Tia Julia. Love you, kiddo!
Officiant
Cormier would like for us to refer to him as Alex because its more professional. Unfortunately for him, we have decided that it's too much to ask of us. Sorry, Cormier. A great friend to both of us, Cormier has been there since the beginning of the Zack and Julia saga. He's seen our relationship change and grow into what it is today and since he's our officiant, we hope that means he can't object to our marriage!
